Commercial insurance is won on timing. Own the timing.
A renewal X-date recurs the same month every year, and the only realistic moment to quote and switch an account is the 30 to 60 days before it. Prowlr reads that window out of public records, scores every account, and hands your producers a clean, timed list of businesses that are actually in their buying window. You own the engine, not a list that expires.
X-dates, scored into prospects, with the reasoning attached.
Most insurance lead vendors rent you a flat list and call it a day. Prowlr is a market-intelligence engine you own. It cross-references public signals, scores every insured against its renewal window, and writes the reasons in plain language. Every record carries a number from 0 to 100, a verdict, and a source-chain back to the public record it came from. Click a firm to open its source-chain.
The 30 to 60 day window is the whole game, so we time to it.
X-date intelligence, answered.
What is an X-date in commercial insurance, and why does it decide the win?
An X-date is the expiration date of a business's current commercial policy. Because commercial P&C policies run a 12-month term off the original bind date, the same expiration month repeats every year. The only realistic moment to quote and switch an account is the 30 to 60 days before that date. Earlier, the prospect is not thinking about renewal. Later, the incumbent has already re-quoted and locked it. Prowlr surfaces which local businesses have an X-date inside that window, and on which line, so producers work timing instead of guessing.
Where do the X-dates come from, and can I see the source?
They are reconstructed from public records, not invented. FMCSA BMC-91 and BMC-91X filings expose trucking policy effective dates and insurers. ACORD 25 and ACORD 24 certificates carry the literal POLICY EXP field. Secretary of State registries show newly formed commercial risks. NAIC SBS verifies producer and entity licenses, and SERFF exposes carrier rate filings. Every scored record carries a source-chain back to the public record it came from, so you can verify the date before you dial.
How is each prospect scored, and what does the score mean?
Every account gets a number from 0 to 100, a plain verdict, and the reasons behind it. The score weighs proximity to the X-date, the line of business, and rate signals such as a carrier filing a general-liability increase in your state. A 91 means a commercial-auto X-date 47 days out on an active motor carrier. A 72 means a newly formed LLC with no coverage on file yet. You see the reasoning, not a black box.
Can I push these accounts into my CRM and outreach stack?
Yes. The same engine that scores the records is callable as a REST API and as a live MCP server, so your CRM, dialer, or agent stack can pull timed X-date accounts directly. You own the pipeline and the data inside it. There is no rented list to expire and no vendor holding your prospects hostage.
Who is Prowlr for in the insurance market?
Independent commercial P&C agencies and brokerages, and the commercial-lines producers and account executives inside them who hunt new accounts and defend renewals. It fits a local independent agency working its county and the new-business teams at regional and national firms like Hub International, Brown and Brown, and Arthur J. Gallagher who need accurate renewal timing to win competitive accounts.
